Garlic harvest!

in #gardening5 years ago

So last weekend we harvested our garlic. At least what little was left of it it because we ate most of the garlic while still green. I'm not sure how we managed to be so selective but somehow we are left with just Creole garlic even though we planted three different varieties.

We don't usually eat a lot of garlic during the year, but still this amount probably half of what we need. Luckily we know a farmer that specialises in organic garlic growing so we can can purchase what extra we need locally!

You've been visited by @porters from Homesteaders Co-op. Nice to see the garlic harvest in! That reminds me I have to contact the garlic lady to put my order in for my daughter-in-law usually grows enough real good garlic for both family needs but this year she needs to return some bulbs to her friend who now has room to grow it. --- Homesteaders Co-op A community marketplace of ethical, handmade and sustainable products available for STEEM, SBD (and USD): https://homesteaderscoop.com follow: @homesteaderscoop

Beautiful! Growing garlics and braiding them after harvest is one of the things I want to try. I'll plant some garlic cloves this autumn. It'll be my first time to grow garlic :)

I would use that in roughly a month for our small family of 2. :) LOL.... Garlic is AMAZING stuff and you can never grow enough.

We have relatives that grow maybe 20 times this amount and the scary thing is they eat it all! But they're a big family!
