Return From Dormancy Becomes a Race to Gather Sunlight
I love the seasons equally and they all have their enjoyable uniqueness about them. When it comes to this season of Spring, it is the rebirth, the renaissance of life that I find so enjoyable these days.
In the past it meant a new season of sports and hanging with friends outdoors, but nowadays it means being outside with my new little family and tending the plentiful garden in its second year of existence under my watch.
Life is dynamic.. it never really sits still for too long, for anybody. Even for the plants.. everyday is different and the next could be the end for any individual plant. I could come along and so quickly chop a tree or pull a weed, and any number of variables could put an end to my life.
But that’s what Life is, a struggle against Death. Everyone needs to eat to continue their bodies existence. Our body, a vesicle in space-time, which constantly needs input from the outside to sustain itself, like a plant needing sunlight to live, to ward off Entropy.
Blueberry bush popping out buds. I always notice the spiral forms that nature uses to grow things.. I always remember phi and the golden ratio spiral.
Brambles making their return from slumber to begin their slow creep of invasion of the perimeter.
Kiwi plants survived the cold! I had my doubts about these but the green growth is all I need to see to know!
I planted kiwi vines in two locations once dominated by wild grape vines, so I know the vines will be fine.
Spinach and Arugulas steadily increasing in Size with each passing day. We’ve had some good days of sunlight recently. Makes the greenhouse very toasty inside.
The weeds also return with the warm weather, obviously. This dandelion is already near the point the blooming.
Single called organisms get in on the action too, you know. Lichen and mosses enjoy the warmer, more pleasant temperatures.
And of course, these other organisms enjoy the warmer water. With the warmth come the insects and they like to think they can land in this water without fear. Well, you could say that’s why I got these fellas.. to prevent the bugs from going crazy and reproducing to Infinitum.
Couple days later and the trees blossoms are out in full! The carpenter bees are already hard at work gathering the food they need to keep their little motor bodies going too!
My son James eats quite often and is learning what it takes to digest food and survive in this cold world. One day at a time.
Take care y’all! Happy gardening!
I pray to Heavenly Father.
New growth is so wonderful, Mother Nature is amazing
She really is. I’m always fascinated by her design in each organism But find curiosity in her randomness!
