How to pollinate garden veggies. (safe for work)
These big beautiful squash flowers are usually only open in the cool morning, and latley I've noticed there are no bees around then to pollinate them. The problem shows up as these little rotten veggies that shrivel up and fall off.
A quick online search says that I should be the one pollinating theses plants... It's quite easy really- first you need to figure out which ones ard girl flowers and which are boy flowers.
The flowers that are on a mini veggie are the girl flowers. They need the pollen from the boy flowers.
Here is a boy flower, just on a long stem looking for love.
The inside of the boy flower looks kind of like-well kind of boy like! Take a q-tip and rub off some of the pollen and head on over to the lady.
Now rub the pollen all over the lady bits. It's ok to do it again if it makes you happy, the neighbors won't complain.
There you have it, gardening is quite easy if you learn just a few basics and pay attention to your plants.

No bees there, either? That is so scary. I have not seen a single bee all summer.
