Finding Motivation From Others

Its so easy to sit at your computer and let life just pass by around you. One minute you have 6 days off work and the next your putting on your uniform at 5:30am and enduring 12 long hours of manual labour.

Your sat here now reading this post but what is happening around you? If I was to answer that question then I would say “ I don’t really know”.
But I hit a realisation one night while speaking on discord and finally closing my eyes at almost 4am.

With out going into much detail about this person, they are very much a well known name and very respected on the platform but their everyday life is their priority and it shows. So following this conversation ( and without letting them know) I decided that I was going to take a day where I was fully aware of my priorities and clean up my garden.

This is what I was facing

I have always loved having a nice garden to sit out in during the warmer months and often see myself eating breakfast while sat in the garden enjoying the peace and tranquility of mother nature’s song.
But that takes effort and that is something I have had little time for as late.
Well today I opened my blinds and was created with the above image and thought NO! I am going to spend one day cleaning up the garden and recreate that tranquility.

Even my pug, Jazz wanted to help but as you can see the heat was to much for her.
As the day went on I could see that my garden was becoming that retreat that I remember and thinking back to the person I had spoke to that night and what they have to do and how they felt afterwards, just kept me going.
After an hour of cutting the lawn it was time to dust off the strimmer and sort out the edges. And trust me when I say I almost used a full reel of strimmer line getting around the garden. Luckily for this toad. He jumped out of the long grass just before being beheaded.

The one part of the garden which I will miss the most when I pull it apart is the rabbit/ guinea pig run. I hand built this area and my rabbit loved it. It had a climbing frame and a converted playhouse and I would never have to cut the grass as the rabbit made sure it was nice and short. Unfortunately my rabbit passed away in early last winter and I have not been out and sorted this area out.

The gravel in this area was now not serving a purpose so I decided to continue a project I had started last year and transferred this gravel to my newly built patio area.
It was not enough to finish but it will do to begin with.

So after a full day and a lot of hard work my garden was showing the signs of being that once tranquil spot that once had a family enjoying the sunshine and having lots of fun.
