WOODCHUCK

in #gardening5 years ago

Third Woodchuck caught in the garden area. The last two had a burrow under a pile of rolled up chain-link fencing.

These two were medium size guys. Teenage types shacking up and playing house in my garden.

I released them in the same spot a mile or so down the road with a major 6 lane highway between us....

All I have left are 3 tomato plants. The Woodchucks started to chew on them along with some large green horned caterpillars.

Sort:

Oh no, that’s terrible about your garden!

Complete bust ... but it was also neglected by me when I had double hernia surgery july 11..

Opportunistic little boogers! I'm glad you're relocating them. It's too bad the most destructive animals are often the cutest.

That is 2 raccoons and 3 woodchucks trapped... It's like I'm raising animals instead of vegetables :-)

Maybe you can eat them?

Oh! Well done! You managed to catch these two culprits!
Now your garden will have some resting time to recuperate from their munching!

Hope you can run very soon!

There is always next season...:-)

Hahaha! You’ll have get ready for that one!

You need a large predator in the garden...

That would be me :-)

But your traps don't scare them ;)

Those naughty little woodchucks! Hopefully, you can still salvage some tomatoes off your remaining plants. Nothing like a home grown tomato. Glad you were able to catch the little culprits and re-home them down and across the road some. 🙂

Good thing the supermarket is close by :-)

Thanks, appreciate it

Was a never ending war with them growing up on the farm.

Those overgrown ground rats can destroy acres of crops per vermant, a garden is a light snack.

Pennsyl-Tuckians in Punxsy worship the worthless beasts. And are so mentally ill, they believe the rat bastards can predict the weather..... Lmao

They are so cute.....

I have never seen woodchucks before and they are cute. It is a shame that they are so destructive. Did you get photos of the green horned caterpillars? Would love to see them. Hope you are fully recovered from your surgery Mike. : )

Just posted some pictures of green horned taken today. Thanks :-)
