Sustainable Feast in The Garden of Eden

It is a fantastic day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!

We made a delicious feast for our volunteers today, cooking over fire using our handmade earthen rocket stoves in our sustainable outdoor kitchen! As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you.

We served delicious 4 cheese stuffed ravioli with 2 different sauces, salad, and garlic bread this evening.

Sauce number one is a tomato sauce base with ground wild boar meat, chicken livers, and Parmesan cheese. The boar meat adds a nice meaty flavor and texture to the sauce. The chicken liver flavor is barely detectable, yet they add a LOT of nutrition to the whole dish.

The raviolis with this rich red sauce are served with a dollop of marscapone cheese, which is mild sweet and creamy, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Also served with sautéed onions, mushrooms and bell peppers, and garlic toast for some crunch.

The other sauce has a base of a mashed sweet and russet potato mix, that was blended with a butternut squash soup, steamed broccoli and pesto.

The raviolis with this mild vegetarian sauce are served with a healthy dollop of cashew garlic parsley dip, and a sprinkle of crumbled feta cheese. It's also served here with sautéed mushrooms, onions and bell peppers, and some garlic toast for crunch.

We offered a delicious salad of garden greens to round out the meal.

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!

We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is one of our rocket stoves in action - we built it by hand out of dirt.
