Last night's football (soccer) recap
We'll start out by stating yet again that I am not a huge fan of this sport and participate in it only because well, everyone else is.
The tension was high in the bar that I was sitting in last night. Nearly everyone in the place either was French or was there with someone who was French. I do not speak French so i spoke to almost no one. I had not seen France play yet in any of their games thus far and I have to say that aside from a few hiccups, I was extremely impressed.
They completely dominated the game in every way which wouldn't mean much if they were playing say, New Zealand, but to do that against Uruguay, a country that lives and breathes football to the point where it may as well be the official religion of the country, is extremely impressive.
I didn't look at the stats but i was in the front row, eyes glued to the screen and it just seemed like France had possession for most of the match. They were patient in their choices and didn't waste chances on goal.
One of the best moments of the game for me was when the France keeper Lloris made a clearance and was surveying the field with a very serious look on his face and a dragonfly magically made its way to his mouth. They did slo-mo and the commentators made remarks about it. The patrons of my bar were in stitches.
The only blemish on the evening of otherwise fair play was the pathetic actions of Kylian Mbappe from France. I think that he has definitely taken the most incredibly stupid dive that I have ever seen. It was so bad that there was a near fight between the teams on the pitch afterwards. There was barely any contact at all and it begs the question "why do people still do this when they know that VAR is going to catch it?" I guess old habits are difficult to get rid of.
The bar i was in, which was mostly French customers mind you, erupted into applause when Mbappe get a yellow card and I think that says something: The entire world is sick of this side of the sport - to the point where your own fans are cheering against you.
Guess who Mbappe is teammates with? None other than Neymar of Brazil. When I found that out, it all started to make sense to me.
I'm so glad we don't have to deal with Neymar anymore thanks Belgium for doing the world a favour. Kevin De Bruyne's goal was an absoulte pearler
Agree last night game was such a big entertaining play. France was clearly on the edge from the beginning from their defense pattern to their organized offense play. The French showed teamwork , great success in passing the ball, Basically it was to be a game of contrasts with an explosive French attack up against Uruguay's gritty and resolute defense. It did not turn out that way and the match never reached the heights that we expected. France won this one at a canter as Uruguay struggled to build any meaningful attacks. Uruguay was having a difficulty penetrating to the sold midfielders of French. Star player Suarez wa not as aggressive as he was.
France took the lead five minutes before half-time. A huge mistake when Uruguay midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur gave away a free kick in the inside-right channel then Antoine Griezmann took a stutter-step before hitting the free-kick with his left foot and found Varane who headed the ball into the bottom right-hand corner of the Uruguayan net.
With Uruguay and Brazil losing . The World Cup title stays in Europe

Yesterday matches was super superb, seeing the way France manoeuvre their way and outplayed Uruguay. France team played well and earned the results befitted. Belgium Vs Brazil match was the toughest as the teams both performed brilliantly though Brazilian team contributing mid field without pressing forward. But Belgium had their way by converting the few chances they had. Only European teams are left in the World Cup now. I believe Belgium is the favorite now due to their initial performance.
This match was so exciting and enjoyable . The first half of the match was equal in both team . But in the second half Uruguya lost their control and lost their mind and feeling abnormal some of uruguya player. Overall France play well and qualified for semi-finals. Best of luck France

Football is the most watched game in the world. I agree with you yesterday,s match was very exciting. I do not know the time, watching the thrill of strength.

It was such a great match, I always know that France would beat Uruguay, but I never expected a total domination like this one.
I can't blame Mbape for diving like you pointed out, he's playing with the diving king 'Neymar' and it's obvious that he has learnt so well from him..... Smile

Soccer is the best sport in the world, no other competition from another discipline can achieve what a world cup accomplishes, a whole world is connected in only one thing, and that is to see the competition. As South American supports 100 to Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, they gave it all the shame that they faced the possible champions of this cup, France is very armed, for me the cup is in it or Belgium
I believe Belgium was favored by bookies to win it from the start. I am excited to see Croatia play as they have been quite dominant in all their matches thus far.
Oh how could I forget Croatia, in my opinion Luka Modric is the player that most stood out with mbappe from France, they deserve to go ahead and reach the final. I imagine a final between Belgium vs Croatia or France vs Croatia would be a heart attack, THAT EMOTION
I think France will take the cup .
if they play every game like last night's it certainly looks like they could.
