Saving the Sourdough

Well i suppose im at fault for this really, which is a shame as it was going so well.
I had a great little sourdough starter living in the fridge have had made a good dozen little loafs that were super easy and mega tasty. Unfortinatly life got the better of me and its sat in the corner of the fridge for unloved for more than 3 months...
Look at it 😮 sad and hungry but im back on my feet and firing on at least 5 out of 8 cyclinders now so this needs fixing...

First job was to drain of the smelly water and assemble the supplies in this case some wholemeal flour, strong bread flour, a 1/4 cup measure and some hot water.

Then it was a simple case of putting one measure of wholemeal flour and one of the strong bread flour.

Then i added in 2 measures of warm water to keep the mix at a 1:1 ratio itll probably need a little more added as i drained off at least half a cup of stinky alchol water to start and this made it hard to mix

After a good stir I've left it on the bench to warm up and hopefully my little yeasty friends arnt to far gone and will start to work thier magic, as I've got a great idea for a recipe i want to try with some home made tomato and chilli chutney I've made.

I think it gets even better when it looks half dead and smells really pungent. It's going to be just fine. I leave my mind in the fridge for ages and it looks like that and smells really vinegary and I just add flour and off we go again full stop speaking of which I better sort out the sourdough that has been sitting on the bench all night. PS really really pleased that you are back on steemit xx

Haha well, this should be amazing then. Hopefully, ill have one on the bench in the next couple of day. Pleased to be back @riverflows 🙃
