Good afternoon comrades of steem of blocks!
This hour of the day we are looking at one or two important things that we need intensify them as fathers of the family. That is " given more attention or caring to our children. Though we do them as fathers, there are more responsibilities that we do which show that we are more caring. I mean, one - on -one interaction with your children, how many times do you have time for our children on that? What we as fathers normally say when our children come closer to us is: "Oh wait! I have some business scheduled right now I will be back soon, of cause, when I am coming I will buy ice cream for you!" Always we will be doing this repeatedly, so our children will be growing up whiles they cannot come closer to us to share their sentiments since they don't have that cordial relationship with us.
This Christmas and new year holidays, I happened to be with my two children; a girl and a boy. Come and see how cheerful the children have become. They would always want my presence so that we can play together. Today, their mothers are not there, so I am taking care of them in the house. I have given them their breakfast and lunch. I have also bathed them and dressed up and sharing conversation with them. At times in this holidays we come to compound and play together, making sure that they are always happy. After all a happy home is where the children can interact with their parents and share their problems with the parents.
This few days that I have been with my children, I have seen how important it is to be closer to your children. In fact, one-on-one interaction is very imperative in building a strong cordial relationship with your children. Like I said early, it helps the children to share their sentiments and thought with you as a father and children. When we have strong cordial relationship with our children, it helps you to know their secrete that may be they will be hiding. It also help the children to remove every fear and panic, that we think, children fear their fathers more than their mothers. Not the fear of being disrespectful with you as the father, but that fligthene which we know is there between children and their fathers will be reduced.
We know in most societies, mothers are the parents who suppose to give more attention to their children, when it comes to devoting much time with the children. But as much as there is a wide gap between us and our children, that father-child relationship begins to fade out gradually. We will see that the child will grow up and he/she loves his/her mother than the father. In many homes, when children grow up and become prominent people in their societies, in most cases when they travel, in their returns they buy good items to their mothers compare to their fathers. Why is this so? Most children, when they are interviewed, what they normally say is that, their mothers are more caring than their fathers. It means the love for their fathers have fade out, and they also care for their mothers more than their fathers in their societies.
In Ghana, mothers day celebration are considered and well recognised than that of fathers day, simply because children think that, mothers are more caring compared to their fathers. I see to it that the trend should equalise to some extent, not always that the mothers will receive all the glory. Lets also consider this thing: "fathers and mothers who spend much money on our children future or career?" Is it not fathers? But why should the children give all the glory to their mothers, though we cannot be on the same favour that to mothers by our children, but it must be closed to some extent. Lets try to give attention to our children as we give more attention to our businesses, for our children too to feel that love and passion we fathers have for them. Thank you for your time.
