Humanity is fighting for our survival. The fossil fuels industries must be abandoned.

A “major victory” is being claimed in the fight to stop the Keystone XL pipeline. This is because A federal judge has rescinded a presidential permit which the dumpster fire issued. In the ruling the judge acknowledged that the presidential permit had not included a Environmental Impact Statement. This statement is required by law, because pipeline development can have a dramatically detrimental effect on the environment when they leak, and all pipelines leak.

The victory comes nearly two years after a similar victory in Standing Rock during the water protectors movement to stop the Dakota Access Pipe Line, commonly known as DAPL. However that victory was 100% ignored by the fossil fuels industry. The pipeline was continuously built in the time after the ruling. They never stopped building, they simply used their capital to pay any fines incurred during their criminal behavior.

This is a persistent problem in the USA, corporations which have caused enormous amounts of environmental destruction are essentially given a pass. They poison our water, air, soil and foods with their toxic materials. Whether it’s 3M, or Bayer, whether it’s Phillip Morris, or General Electric the institutions responsible for poisoning our future are the same institutions which buy off our legislators. They own our policy makers and are able to operate as if they are above the law.

Financial institutions fund the global plunder of the earth’s natural resources, using the public’s innocents and apathy as a leverage point to continue their policies which continue the annihilation of ecosystems and the wholesale murder of indigenous peoples who have lived for time immemorial in balance with the delicate systems of life sustaining nature.

These incursions on the lands of the indigenous people and poisoning of the environment are an extension of the ongoing colonization of all regions of the earth which can yield profits to the crown. The annexed nations lose access to their traditional foods and medicines. The traditional cultures and languages are lost to history for a lack of capitalist gain available to the fat takers and land thieves.

The viewpoint of a person of indigenous heritage challenges the dominant narrative of savage indians being reformed into productive members of society, the viewpoint of an indigenous person reveals boarding schools which raped and murdered native children, then buried their corpses out of sight of the public. The viewpoint of an indigenous person reveals the deprivation of rights to hunt and fish. The viewpoint of an indigenous person reveals the unending massacres which native peoples have survived, showing how the colonizers despite their best efforts have been unable to completely eliminate the indigenous narrative and genuine history of genocide through starvation and trickery through deceit. The interior department negotiated the treaties in the USA in bad faith and those legally binding agreements have gone unenforced, in fact the federal government hasn’t upheld even one treaty.

The USA is the global leader in crude oil exports. Our nation has been pushing up exports of crude oil for decades, since our refineries are all operating at peak capacity there is more profit in exporting crude oil than storing it while our refineries bottleneck and prevent fossil fuel profits from flowing onto the ledgers of the global oligarchs.

These same oligarchs are doing the utmost to create export terminals across the country for all forms of fuel exports. There are LNG export terminals being built. Fracked gas terminals. Coal terminals. Also ports for exporting uranium and other minerals which can be extracted from the USA’s mainland. They see the writing on the wall, this is why they are squeezing every cent they can from the toxic fossil fuels industries.

It makes sense to keep these fuels in the ground. It makes sense to pursue fresh forms of energy which have a foundation of sustainability. It makes sense for the people to own the energy production and distribution systems, in the recent past our energy producers and distributors have carried out massive fraud in an effort to reap greater profits for the board members and shareholders. Enron should have taught us about the effects on the common person of giving over distribution and production to these corrupt bean counters. We absolutely need to create regional energy production and eliminate reliance on the energy grid which is a monstrously outdated waste of potential and stored value. I am no electrical engineer, but even I can see that the electrical grid is a scam.

There have been other options beyond nuclear, coal and gas for a long time. These options have been stifled quite effectively by state and local legislation along with national tariffs and straight up graft and bribery. Whether it’s tidal energy, hydro electric or geothermal any electricity which attempts to compete with fossil fuels in the USA are quickly shut down. These sensible and low emission options need to be fully funded. All of the outdated and life threatening technologies need to be entirely shut down and shuttered. In this modern time the youths of the USA are suing the federal government for it’s dedication to fossil fuels, and because that industry has taken away these children’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The judges of the USA are, in my opinion, tools of the wealthiest class of corporate oligarchs. These judges have shown their willingness to comply with industry wishes in regard to the ongoing geocide. The battle to survive as a species on this planet is hardly guaranteed. Without dramatic action on behalf of the biome our time on the earth’s surface is very limited. We need to pursue radical change in industry. Especially the fossil fuels industry. We must create systems of power which will actually hold accountable institutions which seek to profit off of global warming, and those who wantonly kill us all for their profits need to be held directly accountable. If we want to leave behind a livable planet for the youths who are yet to be born, we will need to take radical actions. Actions our government is refusing to take on our behalf.
