Shopenhauer, in his main work, The World as Will and Concept, he speaks of degrees of objectification of will understood as absolute, total, substantive, as the basis and essence of all objects. These degrees of objectification cover both the inanimate nature and the living, in which we can also treat man. Every degree of objectification says Schopenhauer could be considered as an eternal idea.

There is a constant struggle for matter, space and time between the individual degrees of objectification. In this struggle, each degree tries to express, validate and unfold its own idea at the expense of the ideas of other degrees. For example, to express their own idea they devour the plant world, and in the animal kingdom itself every animal is prey and food for someone else. That's how things are in the human world. The human race is the most powerful, among others, looking at nature as a factory to satisfy its needs, to validate and develop its own idea. From this point of view, this situation means that the meaning of the development of human civilization consists in the establishment and unfolding of one's own idea, in the attainment of power over other forms of the organic and inorganic world.

This process is in fact endless as the world is endless, it is a process of unfolding reason and freedom, a permanent expansion of the circle of the sociosphere and the noosphere. Although it marks three degrees in the development of human history, and as if to exhaust the social movement, Hegel can also be attributed to this understanding of history because for him what is going on and unfolding in history is the mind grasped by his qualification as endless content and infinite power. As something that only processes itself and evolves continuously throughout this process. In this sense, man has a special mission in the world. It is not only the "medium" by which the being knows itself, but it is also the means through which it evolves. In this sense man is to some extent a godlike creature. A similar direction of reasoning is also observed with Nikolay Roerich.

For him, earthly history can only be seen as a prehistory of mankind. His true story that corresponds to man's own project is cosmic history. The man is about to become a citizen of the earth as a citizen of the solar system, respectively the galaxy and the universe. However, this is because he does not self-destruct. In this sense, man's earthly history is given to clarify himself with himself, to overcome all disagreements and collisions, and to achieve the unity of his being.
