Some thoughts about the psychodynamic theory of personality. /part 6/

In view of Jung 's style and its breadth of intellectual quests, his analytical concept is the most difficult to comprehend. According to him, soul (similar to personality) consists of three distinct but interacting structures: - ego - it is a center in the sphere of consciousness. It is a component of the psyche, includes thoughts, senses, memories, thanks to which we feel our integrity, perseverance and perceived as people.

The ego serves our self-awareness and thanks to it we see the results of our conscious activity; - personally unconscious - combines conflicts and memories that are sometimes realized but later suppressed and forgotten. According to Jung, personal unconscious contains complexes of emotionally charged thoughts, feelings, memories contained in the past personal experience of the individual or in his native memory; - Collectively unconscious - a deep layer in the personality structure, according to Jung, which is a repository of latent traces of human memory, even our great ancestors.

It reflects the thoughts and feelings that are common to all human beings and the result of our overall emotional trait. Jung's understanding of the collective unconsciously comes down to the entire spiritual heritage of human evolution revived in the structure of the brain of each individual. In this sense, the content of the collective is unconsciously preserved through heredity and is the same for mankind. He also hypothesized the so-called archetypes / primary models /, and collectively unconsciously designates it as archetypes. They act in a way similar to Freud's instincts. Among the many archetypes described by Jung are the mother, the child, the hero, the sage, the deity of the Sun, God and death. Jung thinks the archetype is something quite abstract, and we tend to design it in the world, over a person, usually our own mothers.

Even when there is no one about the archetype, we tend to embody it, that is, to turn it into a mythological image. We must be aware that these archetypes are not biological like Freud's instincts. They are something more spiritual. Other archetypes are the shadow - the dark side of the personality that contains our socially unacceptable sexual and aggressive impulses, amorous thoughts and passions; the persona - the mask, ie. "The good impression" that we all want to create while playing our social roles? the anime - the female aspect in the collective unconscious of men; the anime - the male aspect in the collective unconscious of women. In today's society, traditions are still influential. Women are still expected to be more closely connected with parental care and less aggressive, and men stronger and ignore the emotional side of life.
