Electrified Gold Adds Subtle Highlights at Evening … Singapore River – GoldenHour Photography

in #goldenhourphotography6 years ago (edited)

During 5 years in Singapore, I rarely witnessed any sunsets worth looking at or writing about. So I had to look for other goldenhour views.

Riverside blues

The finest spots to chill out in the evening were along the river. And one of my favorite spots was Boat Quay, with its quiet bars and restaurants looking over the wide river. The view also covers a broad expanse of sky, which on this evening was colored a deep rich blue.

(And in fact, this is one of the best spots to view fireworks exploding in the sky on Singapore’s National Day.)

A bit of gold trim

The tiny, bright lights shining in the distance and peaceful skyline on the far side of the river made the area even more tranquil. They often reminded me of a bit of gold trim on the edging of a well-crafted object.
Location – Boat Quay, SIngapore, on Google Maps

Very beautiful view. It looks very inspiring. Good luck to you and Love.

Очень красивый вид. Выглядит очень вдохновляющее. Удачи Вам и Любви.

This picture is simply awesome and must have been difficult to capture.

You are still lucky,as had you been in Boats Quay during the 1970's or early 1980's you would not have been able to take this picture because many bumboats would fight for space riverside. There would have hardly been any space to walk when Boats Quay was at its prime as a trading center in the Singapore river.

Since the 1990's there has been adaptive reuse of these historic buildings into restaurants, pubs and cafes.

This picture not only depicts the calm and serene nature of Boats Quay right now, but also shows how times change so drastically by the adoption of innovation and technology.

Thank you for the share :)

Interesting point. Actually, the first time I passed thru Singapore (in 2002), Boat Quay was packed with sailboats.

By the time I moved to Singapore in 2012, all those sailboats had been moved to a marina on the souther shore. Just another way in which Singapore keeps it's cityscape beautiful and resident-friendly.

The lights of the building and the surroundings contrast the blue skies which created a silhouette. nice shot!

So you mean to say Singapore don't have amazing sunsets? :/ what do you mean by that?

Btw wonderful goldenhourphotography.

Thanks.
Since it's a big city with many tall buildings, one cannot see many sunsets.

OH i see, i didn't realize it, but i think there would be beaches too! you can get a chance to witness sunset on the beaches may be.
