SMOKE SCREEN AND MIRRORS BUYING VOTES
If you have been keeping up to date with the "Land Grab" issues in South Africa it may not be quite as it seems. I have always thought there was an agenda as to why now. The EFF (Economic Freedom Front)b is another political party that put pressure on the ANC to force the issue of land.
The EFF is "lead" by a notorious racist bigot called Julius Malema. What makes him dangerous to the whole country is he isn't the smartest cookie in the box. It is easy to see through what he is up to as it is all about self gain. He says things that leaders shouldn't say. He has sung songs with his followers that have words about killing the white farmers. I don't know if he is a genuine racist or not but I classify anyone who wants to kill another race a racist. maybe he is just saying these things because that's what he thinks his followers want to hear. Most of the EFF following is uneducated and unemployed. Basically this is a very dangerous group as they are desperate and can be manipulated quite easily.The country has to keep him out of office at all costs, as he could become another Mugabe. He originally was the leader of the ANC youth league and was kicked out the party. Corruption is what drives him ,he has been caught before on numerous occasions. It seems the more chaos he causes the stronger his support becomes.
There are elections next year in South Africa and the ANC (ruling party) is under treat from the DA and the EFF parties. This is why I personally feel they have agreed to the land grab. This is not something new but the idea of grabbing with no compensation is. The first paper was drawn up in 2013 and has been sitting on the back burner to now. This week they have been trying to make amendments to the constitution regarding the land issue.
It doesn't look as though the State has the power to just "grab" then land. Firstly there has to be checks and balances and the constitution requires expropriation be done in terms of a law of general application and for a public purpose or in basic term in the public's interest. It further states that fairness has to be given to all parties involved. For it to happen there is a very long process of administration and legal battles.
This should sound off alarm bells in The ANC as this could create tension with their followers and supporters. They will be seen as weak and will most likely jump ship to the lunatic Malema who runs the EFF. I think this is the stalling tactic and some land will most likely be given to people that already belongs to the State. The ruling party needs to get through the next election first and then we may find that they will announce it can't be done or some compensation will be found for land.
I am reading between the lines of what is going on in a very chaotic situation. Tensions are high already as the people want their portion of land. We saw what happened in Zimbabwe and I don't think we are quite there yet. Fingers crossed this will disappear for another election at a later date. Investors are scared and will not invest in a country that is in turmoil. This is the reason I feel that they are trying to keep a lid on things here.

Unfortunately the masses don't understand the bigger picture. They are being used in a card game here and you may find Malema will be offered some compensation to change tact. This has happened before and always wandered why he goes quiet. When he runs out of funds he will make some more noise. I may be wrong but they are rather greedy. Ghadaffi always said he would be the King of Africa and what made the game fun was he bought countries through monetary gifts.

Hi @janton. I think it will until he wants more money. There is always a reason behind things happening and usually in Africa it has some beneficial gain ,not to the people but the ones manipulating the situation.

It was always the worry that South Africa would turn down this road . Let’s hope the people will make the educated decision but something tells me the majority may not.
