Living in Grace

Read the following passage
Isaiah 59:9-11 (KJV) 9Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

10We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
11We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: WE LOOK FOR JUDGMENT, BUT THERE IS NONE; FOR SALVATION, BUT IT IS FAR OFF FROM US (emphasis mine).

From the above scripture, I learnt a few things. If you shut your eyes against the light of Grace, you cannot enjoy the blessings and peace that comes from it. I understood a few things in verse 11 in line with the knowledge of grace. If you are under the dispensation of grace and yet bound by the law, you will expect so much from the law that it originally can give and never get it; or expect to get something special from it and never find it.

Let me explain. The people ‘roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves’ which expressing their deep state of regretful lamentation. Can you imagine when a man loses something very valuable or his much loved one and sits alone crying? That is what they constantly lived in. The murmur under the law; and they cannot get the profit of grace if they do not accept it.

They were living in the very height of anguish and they looked for JUDGMENT something that the law is never void of and did not get Judgment because they were in the dispensation of Grace. The judgment they sought is stored in their future. Yet, they looked for SALVATION found with Grace and it was far from them because they were living under the law.

You cannot be under the law and expect to benefit from the Grace of God!
