Fascinating Wall Paintings at Lakkos Place

Here are another amazing wall pictures in Heraklion Crete. There is a small but very creative scene in the old town of Heraklion called The Lakkos Projekt.

'The Lakkos project' is a community based project who works alongside the Municipality of Heraklion to improve the Lakkos area and bring new life into the old city.
This area was known in the beginning of the 20th century for prostitutes, criminals, musicians and forbidden habbits like smoking wheed.
Now the groups have so far brought street art, music/ film festivals, restoration of old house facades, and performance art to the area. The project is not for profit and relies heavily on donations and volunteers.
