What Is the Grand Vision For Steem Post-SMTs?

Any project needs something big to aspire to, a grand vision that will make people dream and be inspired, even if or when it capitalizes on present successes, smaller or bigger.

Because present goes away, and future will soon come. And then you will need something else to show for it.

SMTs have been delayed several times. The lost time cannot be recovered of course, but we will need a direction after that, because they will likely come in Q2 of the next year. Which is not that far into the future!

If it will be a major success that will be great for Steem, and Steemit staff will likely have their hands full for some more time dealing with the businesses which will need help setting up SMTs, as easy as it may look the process through a tech savvy eyes.

Hopefully that will be the case.

Anyway, at some point the hype will slow down and other people will carry on the task of helping businesses set up their SMTs as they wish and interpret the parameters.

What do we have in store for Steem after that?

I mean a grand vision, not something like what to do in the next hardfork.

Can we answer this question already or do we need Communities and SMTs to work for a while and see what direction we need to go on?

I don't know, maybe there is such a grand vision, but I haven't heard/read it in public yet.

If there is one, or at least discussions about it, give us a flavor of it! But, of course, the focus should remain on wrapping up and then testing SMTs (and Communities).

This is more like a debate I'm trying to start. Not saying we should already have a grand vision post SMTs or not. Or that our grand vision should continue to be SMTs even after their release, and attempting to make it reach all corners of the internet and various niches.

I'm pretty sure I heard a while ago Steemit will begin marketing more seriously after SMTs. I will be looking forward to that time.
