DOES A BELIEF IN PSEUDOSCIENCE RESULT IN COGNITIVE DISSONANCE? Are you aware of the global crop loss map?

So, I have noticed a commonality among those that believe in anthropogenic global warming and those that believe in the flat earth in that when discussing these hypothetical models the "believers" tend to resort in ad hominem attacks that are far beyond what most would consider acceptable behavior. We are not just talking about insults but cursing in the worst of ways. It causes me to wonder if such immoral behavior is the result of cognitive dissonance or is it the natural response by those who are simply incapable of presenting a cogent and articulate argument.

When in discussion with individuals who support either of these belieFs, many of the arguments they do make tend to be hyperbolic propaganda and are meant to produce an emotional response. Not the stuff of science. And when you offer them a scientific counter-argument, they dismiss it as a "denier's" argument and therefore not valid. Science to them is only valid when it supports their belief.

And you may ask; why do I bother? Well, when it comes to the flat earth I tend to avoid it for I see no threat in believing in it and if I feel forced I have a single argument for them.
Being rational isn't an option with these people as they repeatedly extol you to do your research, as if saying that lends them some sort of credibility, when the fact is clear that they have not done sufficient research if they are still believing such biblical science in this modern age.
But when it comes to the climate change and what is happening, well, my passion comes from a genuine sense of wanting to warn people of the perils of global cooling which has a historical context and is relevant to the point that we are already seeing the effects of global cooling with the crop losses happening globally. This year expect prices to escalate or package sizes to shrink a lot. The main culprits for these crop losses are freezing cold, hail, flooding and drought.

Long before the weather itself will become a serious continuous threat, will be the threat of food shortages which also equates to the threat of your hungry neighbor. What are you doing to ensure your food security? Whatever it is you should keep it quiet, otherwise come trying times there will be those who are unprepared who will take what you have by force and there will likely only be you to stop them. When it comes to prepping, the less others know of your preparations the less the likelihood they will come looking for it when times get rough. Stockpiling foods is only one step. Acquiring knowledge on how to survive extreme weather is of equal importance. Knowledge of foraging, shelter building, water filtration, rope making, rocket stoves, weapon construction are all of equal importance and may make the difference between surviving and not surviving.
