SNOW EMERGENCY ISSUED - PHOTO'S & VIDEO - 5 UPDATES

Local Police now report, the City of Wisconsin Rapids is under a Snow Emergency.

This is Papa Bear reporting from the great white north.
We have gotten another 8 inches of snow over night, with the snow still coming down. The weather service is forecasting another 6 to 10 inches today.
Many places the wind has caused blowing and drifting snow. Cars are getting stuck in the streets and most roads are not passable in town. The plows will likely wait until the snow stops tonight to clear the streets.

Stuck in the snow

I took the video above from my front door step. The car got stuck in the street and friends came to help them get out of the snow. The snowblower cleared a path and they used shovels to dig the snow from around the car.

Snow Emergency for Wisconsin Rapids

The City of Wisconsin Rapids is under a Snow Emergency until 3:00pm on Wednesday February 13th, 2019.
No vehicles may be left on the city streets or risk getting ticketed, and towed at the owners expense.

Another car stuck in the street

The snow is now knee deep in the street. Anyone without 4 wheel drive will never get through. This person was very foolhardy, trying to drive in this deep snow. Above photo taken out my front window.

I went out and snowblowed to stay ahead of the storm and took the photo above in the street in front of my house.

UPDATE #4

The weather service just issued another forecast. We will received another 4 to 8 inches of snow as the storm will continue late into the night. It is currently 1:15 in the afternoon.

Snow will continue into late this evening. It will be heavy at
times through the mid afternoon. Additional accumulations of 4 to
8 inches are likely. Gusty northeast winds will produce some
blowing and drifting snow at times through late this evening.
Roads and sidewalks are snow covered and slippery. Many airline
flights are delayed or cancelled.

UPDATE #5

Snow plow leaves 4 ft deep pile in driveway

After the plow clears the street, everyone will need to clear their own driveway. Because the plow leaves a pile of snow 4 ft deep as he goes by and clears the streets for traffic.
