1184 BC: The Fall of Troy to the Greeks occurs, if Eratosthenes’ calculations are correct.

1821: Agrinio (during this period known as Vrachori), whose population participates in the Greek Revolution, is temporarily liberated.

1835: Greek revolutionary and admiral, Andreas “Miaoulis” Vokos dies. He is buried in Piraeus near the tomb of Themistocles, the founder of the ancient Athenian Navy.

1917: Alexander is crowned King of the Hellenes following the abdication of his father, Constantine I.

1963: Greek diplomat and former Deputy Foreign Minister, Michael Tsamados dies.

1997: the Schengen Agreement is ratified by the Hellenic Parliament. Major demonstrations by religious and patriotic organizations against the treaty take place for several days.
