Team Gridcoin: Over 1 billion RAC + May YTD Stats.

Hello all,

I was browsing the team's summary page over Boincstats when I saw a number pop up most exciting:

Recent Average Credit: 1,023,195,935 .... Woah.

What a massive number that is!

Out of curiosity I dug out some snapshots of the team's summary page from almost a year to date.

I found one from the 30th May, 2017. Seems the Team's total RAC was 300 million back then, thus it effectively TRIPLED over a year!

Since a picture tells much more than words I screenshotted the snapshot dating from the 30th of May, 2017, I included today's per comparison:

Comparing these two I noticed a few things:

Back a year ago the highest position Gridcoin ever took was 4th, nowadays it reigns (some time now) supreme on 1st place in team positions. It took first place on 17th september 2017.

Like I said the team total combined RAC without ASIC's tripled from 298,176,895 to 1,023,195,935.

The solo total members doubled over a year from 9936 to 18246, effective active solo members going from 2082 to 3571.

It's also increasing at a faster pace than last year and that with the crypto hype and the heavy forking problems well past us.

But the biggest increase is in members in the pools:
Around 540 to 14646 total members, which 9518 are active up from around a hundred last year.

And in which projects is all that RAC being put into?

There are as of now 50158 hosts (computers, server, smartphones, raspberry PI's, etc) in team Gridcoin donating their computing power to these whitelisted science projects:

Seems like a lot of computing power come from videocards, since all the big shareholders in the graphic pie are gpu compatible.

Didn't knew the cpu share was dwarfed that much in RAC, cheers to being a dwarf then ;-)

Thanks for reading.

If your interested in crunching these projects go to:

https://boinc.berkeley.edu and download their BOINC client while signing up to interesting science projects!

You also can earn cryptocurrency while helping out with the variety of research projects called Gridcoin (GRC), you can read up all about it on:

https://gridcoin.us/ and https://gridcoin.science/

And by searching the boinc and gridcoin topics and communities on Steemit!

This is just amazing! If we manage to create also a market for GRCs, we can be very proud of our community...

Don't forget that Collatz RAC is enormously inflated :P Kind of annoying, since it skews the pie chart ... SETI probably gets more FLOPS but shows up as a smaller slice since it rewards fewer credits for equivalent work.

Anyways, nice post. The rate of growth over the past year is pretty awesome.

Thanks :) Didn't know that was the case for Collatz too, I know for example CSG is very generous in giving "points" compared to other projects which drowns out other projects real fast in pie charts.

Right. There are other projects that inflate credits too. But Collatz seems to be the most egregious offender :P
