I know life goes on, but I still mourn my hacked account

It has been two and half months since my first steemit account, @chemmy got hacked.

I must confess that the night I stupidly clicked the phishing link, imputed my password and it got hacked, I was practically praying for the ground to swallow me.

I discovered too late that experience is the worst teacher. All my efforts since August when I joined became ruined in a day and someone smarter... Probably a handsome geek in a faraway country became richer.

Not only did this hacker not settle for my SBD, he also started using it to scam my followers and hackers. I checked after a few days and discovered that some of my followers fell prey. They thought I sent the message and tada, their accounts got hacked too. That was the part that pained the most. I wanted to get it back, if only to just close it and prevent others from falling victims through it, but all my efforts were to no avail.

The other pain was the fact that those I thought would be there for me, come rain, come shine ignored me during this difficult time of my life.

Not only did I learn that it is not all the time someone would get to reap what he has down, I also learnt that true friends who would stick by one when things are not fine are rare. Very rare indeed.

It's been two and half months, @chemmy, rest in peace with the hacker. Lol
