Using The Superbrain To Remeber Dreams

in #hacks6 years ago

From ancient times dreams are considered to have a special and mystical meaning and, even though we know today that our dreams are mostly the way our subconscious processes different things we learn and experience through the day, the ability to remember our dreams can transform our lives completly.

Many great creations and ideas originated in dreams. The Beatles song Yesterday came to Paul McCartney in a dream, Mary Shelley created Frankenstein in her dream, the famous chemist Mendeleev created The Periodic table from a vision he saw in his dreams and there are many other examples of famous and world changing ideas and creation originating from dreams.

While we sleep our brain continues to work uninterrupted , if we have a problem the brain finds a solution to that problem while we sleep and projects the solution as a dream in our mind. The problem is that we rarely manage to remember the dream for more than 60 seconds.

I recently did a Mindvally quest called Superbrain. In this 30 day program, created by world famous memory and brain power expert named Jim Kwik, I learned many interesting techniques and methods to increase my brain power.

Jim believes that remembering our dreams is extremely important and he created a special bonus in which he decided to share 6 tips that make remembering dreams much much easier.

Jim likes acronyms and the acronym for these six tips is simply called -D.R.E.A.M.S.

The D.R.E.A.M.S method

Decide - make a seroius and conscious decision to remember your dreams. Try to recall about a day you had to wake up early at 5 AM. You decided you will wake up and as a result you woke up at 4:57 before your alarm clock. If you make a real decision you will remember the dream.
Record - Write down the dreams in a dream journal you keep next to your bed. An awesome idea would be to get a flashlight pen so you xan record your dreams without getting up.
Keeping and writing in a dream journal creates a habit to remember your dreams better and when you write in the journal try and use as many details as possible - this will help your dreams to become even more detailed and memorable. If you keep your cellphone next to you when you sleep you can record your dream onbthe voice recorder.
Eyes - Keep your eyes closed when you wake up, up to the point you record your dream. When we open our eyes as we wake up the brain has to adapt and proccess alot of images at once, this creates a distraction that may cause you to forget you dream. To avoid this wake up and keep your eyes closed.
Affirm - Affirmations are a powerful tool to manifest things into our life. Creating an affirmation like I remember all of my dreams and repeating it through out the day programs you brain to remember the dreams.
You can also use affirmation for lucid dreaming by asking yourself if you are dreaming several times a day, and when you are dreaming the answer will be yes. Use an affirmation to program your brain to remember dreams.
Manage - Manage your sleep and create the perfect conditions for sleeping. Avoid screens and create complete darkness in your room. If you want to really improve the quality of your sleep check out this post: Sleep hacks.
Share - share your dreams and tell people what you dreamt about and use as many details as possible. Not only that this practice will help to remember and understand the dream you are talking about, but it will also give make your brain understand that remembering dreams is important and you will start remembering dreams better.

Using these six hacks to remember dreams can actually change the world. I know Einstein dreamt about his relativity theory and if that isn't inspirational enough to use these hacks I don't know what is.

I am going to use these hacks to create better posts for steemit, so stay tuned.

Interesting idea!! Been reading a lot recently that most of our best work and most creative work is done outside of real work (ie waking and before going to bed). Guess it fits with dreaming as well

Exactly, the problem is to remember the dreams. Thanks for stopping by.

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

From ancient times dreams are considered to have a special and mystical meaning and, even though we know today that our dreams are mostly the way our subconscious processes different things we learn and experience through the day, the ability to remember our dreams can transform our lives completly.
It should be completely instead of completly.
