Haiku by @marcoriccardi, 12th September 2015
The new fantastic contest of Bananafish!
3 @steembasicincome shares given weekly!
For those that want to unleash their poetic potential, here is how this contest works:
• Look at the prompt image and let yourself be inspired by it.
• Write a haiku related to the prompt image. The haiku should be composed by 3 verses with no title. The 1st verse should be 5 syllables long, the 2nd verse should be 7 syllables long, and the 3rd verse should be 5 syllables long again.
• If you aren’t confident with English enough, you can write your haiku in Spanish, French, or Italian as well. Sorry, we can’t read more languages… yet.
• Post the haiku on your blog or in the comment section below this post. If you make your own post, don’t forget to put the link to it in the comment section below!
Don't forget to use the tag:
#haikucontest
Watch out for the @bananafish comment to this post, under which you can cast your vote!

(Sorry for being late, Steemit was down)
My vote is for @theironfelix
I vote for @eccles :)
Hope I'm not too late. My vote is for @Kaelci
You're in time until tomorrow 😉
My vote is for @calluna for this week. 🕸
My vote goes to @calluna as well.
My vote goes to @cyemela
Golden memory
Cocooned below shifting trees
Watches life move on
Hope just a comment is ok, not brave enough for a post
I think that yours is a very graceful haiku, Cal 🙂
A comment is ok! But you shouldn't be shy of this haiku!
I like this very much. I've been reading a few of the masters to try and get an idea of the form--this captures the sense of something significant and timeless captured by an ordinary natural event.
This is beautiful and my favorite for this round!
In silver string bound
A golden pinion was caught
Poor, hungry hunter
Commentary:
Rushing to the joke,
A fool forfeits direction
Mind thaws with good cheer
Now I know I'm doing 0 to 3 on style here, but I really wanted to shine 'em off before bed -- gives a bit of a boost to the humours, so to say :)
I'll be sure to vote for the more serious entrants tomorrow and make an effort to actually learn something!
Your finishing line had me grinning. Poor hunter indeed!
Also, I need to slow down a bit when reading. I thought your final commentary line was
"Mind thaws with good beer" and had a bit of a giggle fit. 😁 Thanks for the cheer!
Very good! I like your use of silver/gold counterposition
sorry I am late but I did write one no post this week.
Sunrise aurora
An old, sticky spider falls
in spite of the tree
Don't worry, you're still in time! Nice haiku!
Cool thanks
Nice!
thank you
Great haiku! Your opening line was my favorite! 😃
Thank you
What a long birth with this one!
Here's my entry.
Time is an illusion, ommm...
And space is a protrusion ahrrrrrrr
Sunlight falls towards
A home destroyed by autumn
Silk spun to repair
Masterly use of kigo (autumn) to show the transience of life and the destruction/creation circle!
Lovely haiku! It has me thinking on how much we love to see the falling leaves in autumn while the spiders have extra work to do. Thanks for that!
Thought I'd work on a haiku post...but it will never pan out in time, so here's my effort for this week:
You added lightness with the last verse, brava!
Thank you. There's a deceptive simplicity about haiku. They are accessible, and yet the best of them (I've been reading the three master you recommended a couple of weeks ago) are gems of concentrated wisdom and poetry.
Yes you're right, when they're good you feel it. Something clicks, a sparkle. 😉
Great haiku! Though, I'm feeling bad for the hungry spider now. 😢 (And I will be looking to buy a hammock.) While you're in my head, any other thoughts that you'd like to add?! 😮😉😄
Thank you @brisby! Hammock's a good idea :)
MI ENTRADA EN ESPAÑOL
Desde la rama
pérdida y rotunda
araña tu piel
Me gusta mucho el doble entendido de araña!
bien, con unos pocos golpes has creado una imagen interesante! 🙂
I love this--can't vote now because my VP is low, but it is wonderful
Ooh, you gave me goosebumps with your haiku... Nicely done!
Hullo! :D Here is my entry for your haiku contest ~

Enjoying Autumn's embrace;
Disgruntled spider.
A haiku that combines simplicity, delicacy and lightness a perfect kigo and its kireji. Very good!
In case you want to learn about the Bananafish Realms, here's the application to curie for the October and November support - f3nix
This is lovely with a great ending showing the perspective of the poor spider!
Thank you! A bit of humor is ok for a haiku!
:D Glad you liked it! :)
I tried to think of something a bit more tranquil, but that tiny spider sitting there and glaring at that leaf in her web... it just kept leaping out at me.
Your haiku somehow remained impressed in my mind.
Dejo mi participación español, espero les guste, lo llamo
