Mizu No Oto Haiku Contest - Week #27 - @bananafish

Decided to do something different this week. Instead of the traditional haiku, I’ve put together a haibun using an edited poem from my ebook Fear and Loathing in the State of Jefferson with a haiku to fit the picture.
My haibun entry based on @marcoriccardi’s picture:
My Little Boat Started Sinking
“My little boat started sinking, looks like I’ll start drinking,” said the Mad Hatter with a smile and a tea table longer than a mile.
He jumped up to race the mouse to the next chair.
The mouse couldn’t move. He wouldn’t dare.
Arm up, tea cup red. Alice ran off to bed.
“Hiccup. Sinking little boat,” mused the mouse.
“Where did it go down? In the moat!” The Mad Hatter exclaimed the answer to the question knowing perfectly well where the little boat remained submerged on the river shore near the mountains.
Summer hope, water -
The tea trip must be postponed,
not a party boat.

LOL. Exactly. You can only carry tea water this boat.
Compost tea? lol. When I wrote mine for this prompt I imagined a stagnant odor coming from the boat.
I'll check it out. Been writing in these contests for over a year now. Makes Steemit worth the while. Hope to see more of your Haikus.
