"Happy Mothers Day Tooo Yoooooooo"

On this sublime Sunday in May, I thought it only fitting to put out a short note of thanks to all the mothers of the world. What a hard job you have, and what a great thing you do every day, BEING a mother to us all. So, on this, your grand day of days -- sit back, kick your feet up in the folding recliner under the shade tree in the back yard, turn on the sprinkler for a cooling effect, and wait for your children/partner/spouse/neighbor/good friend/cat to bring you whatever it is that makes you as happy as a clam in a mud bank on your special day.

You've earned it. Iced mint julep, root beer, cold water, hot dog off the grill, sizzling steak, big old Salmon fish, vegan casserole, veggie shishkabobs, pizza, cookies, ice cream sundae, whatever floats your mom boat. Just make sure you call it your day. This is your time to shine and enjoy it all. And though I've never actually BEEN a mother, and if biology of the species holds true, never will, I DO know how hard a job it is. After all, I was a kid once, and I remember what it was like for my mother, dealing with me on a regular basis. Couldn't have been easy. But she did a fine job for sure, and I'm so thankful for everything she did for me throughout my life, day in, day out, to get me where I am today. Thanks mom, you shall never be forgotten.

So, for all the other moms of the world, enjoy your BIG day, relax, and savor everybody else doing all the stuff for you that you've been doing for them, the other 364 days of the year. You deserve it. I truly think every day should be your day.
