Time to Butt out Day 45

in #health6 years ago

https://steemit.com/life/@bearbear613/time-to-butt-out-day-27-kinda-winning-kinda-failing

It's been a good couple of weeks since my last update. The good thing is I have not had a dirty cigarette in more than a month! I'm still kinda hooked on the e-cig unfortunately but I have reduce the nicotine level to only (3) as opposed to (6). That should mean either one of two things:

A) I'll smoke more of this garbage to keep the nicotine in my blood
B) I'll have less cravings the longer I'm on this lesser form of garbage
C) When I run out how fast am I going to have a "nic fit"

There really is not much of a comparison as I'm not coughing anymore, I smell better, and I have a bit more energy. Unfortunately anything I in-hail is bad for me, but perhaps it's a healthier alternative (I hope). I really care about my health and my yetzer harah (evil inclination) still craves for this crap. I'm hoping to at least have 90 days of NO cancer sticks, and perhaps I'll lower the nicotine level for the e-cig to zero. I don't really get a rush from the E-cig so maybe that's a sign I'm barely getting any nicotine NOW and it's free sailing.

We shall see! I'm doing ok I guess ;)

Let My People Go!

I am proud of you @bearbear613. A friend of mine is hooked on the ecig. Perhaps one day you will give it all up. I am rooting for you!

you are doing so well sirbearbear and should be very happy with your progress, I think it's rather remarkable. how long did you smoke?
I smoked for 20 years and quit cold turkey, that was brutal.
but you got this thing beaten down.

I have quit so many times in my life; even cold turkey and kept it up for 6 months at a time and somethign would happen and I would go back. One time I think I quit of a year. The problem is I LOVE smoking ;)

yes sir I totally relate. when I quit I didn't even want to
but was forced into it because my wife was quitting so
I knew it would be torture for her unless I quit also.

after 20 years I can still borrow a smoke and enjoy it, drives
my wife crazy!

Looking at just a few of the things you've been through would
drive ANYONE to smoke even after they quit! but since you've already
quit successfully and proven that you can do it then you got this.
Plus you understand the power of the spoken word so you can reprogram yourself.

For me, nothing worked but quitting cold turkey. Lowering the amount didn't work, because I got to a point where the amount of cigarettes per day was not enough, so I got back to regular smoking. I quit cold turkey 3 months ago and I have no cravings at all.

Hopefully you'll be able to drop the e-cig as well, because it's also very harmful to the body.

Congrats on a healthier you friend! Hang in there!

stay clear away from cigarette because it is very dangerous to the health, rather you can continue with your e-cigarette if your feel the urge to smoke.
