Hepatitis: The common but dreadful disease(part-2)

This is the continuation of earlier article about hepatitis. In my earlier article I described about hepatitis A and B. Today I am going to highlight about hepatitis C, D and E.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV): Hepatitis C transmission type is mostly same to hepatitis B. This virus is mainly transmitted to human body through infective blood. Infective blood and blood products are going to human body in different ways like-

---Infected blood transferring

---Through infected syringe needle

---Through infected shaving materials (i.e. blade/razor)

Drug takers are under high risk for this disease like hepatitis B. They sometimes use same needle to take drugs to different persons which lead to spread the disease from one body to another. There is a possibility to transmit this virus through sexual intercourse. But this is much less common.

This disease ends up with liver cirrhosis which have rare cure. The most alarming matter is- there is no vaccine of hepatitis C.

Hepatitis D virus (HDV): This infection attacks those human body only if the subject having hepatitis B virus already inside. The double attack of HDV and HBV can result in a more serious disease and worse outcome. If the person already has taken Hepatitis B vaccines can protect hepatitis D as well.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV): Again Hepatitis E transmission type is mostly same to hepatitis A. This virus mainly transmitted through consumption of contaminated water or food. We find this disease mainly developing and under developed countries. These countries food habits yet not up to the mark which leads the epidemic of this disease. Vaccines are available of Hepatitis E virus but it doesn’t reach to the victims sometimes due to poor management and ignorance.

Though, except Hepatitis C all vaccines are available but poor health care sometimes leads to death of people for Hepatitis. In rural areas yet people are not taking proper treatment rather depending on quack doctors who gives ridiculous advices like water treatment or coconut treatment to cure the disease.

Awareness and education is a must to fight against all diseases. Then only the health sector will be improved and ensured.
