Well the potato is very good source of vitamin C plus a potato with the skin has more potassium then a banana plus the potato has vitamnB6 plus the potato has no fat and no sodium,plus the potato has carbs and potassium that can give you the energy you need when working out,and is great if you lead an active life or if you compete a lot the potato is the way to go,you see the potassium in the potato can help to lower your blood pressure too and reduce your risk of strokes too,plus the skin of the potato is where a lot of the nutrients are like vitamins nd also minerals,plus.the potato has compounds like flavonoids and also carltenoids and phenolic acids you see these compounds work in your body to reduce the risk of harmful free radicals and when those free radicals accumulate they can cause all kinds of health issues like heart disease and also diabetes and cancer too.
