Tips to beat the heat

The sudden wave of heat is really tiring people in our area. Those who work in the sun have been advised to avoid the afternoon period.

  • drink lots of clean and pure water, not sodas
  • eat fresh fruits and vegetables, avoid a heavy diet which includes fat
  • wear light cotton clothes and which is loose fitting rather than tight fitting ones, especially black leather
  • always wear sunglasses when going out during the day
  • carry a bottle of water with you while traveling
  • bathe daily and change clothes to avoid an onset of skin infections
  • avoid heavy jewels
  • getting up early in the morning will help to get things done before the heat beats down on you
  • if you feel faint after traveling in the heat, drink a glass of water after stirring in a spoonful of sugar and a pinch of salt
