Sex

Once, I stayed back in school for a concert and walked into an expectedly empty room to preen before a mirror a little before time.

As I stood with my legs astride in front of the imposing glass, I looked into the mirror to sneak my askew bowtie into place. My hosts were in the background-- two naked bodies tumbling on the soft of the brown rug.

First, I thought they were two guys pounding playfully at each other until I looked a tad closer and saw the lady's weave peep from beneath his muscular back. Then it all came to me.

I stood momentarily transfixed, like a metamorphosis stuck in a stage beside a rushing river bank. It was doubtlessly fast-paced and yet intensely melodic. They may not have been pros but it seemed well choreographed. One led the naughtiness, another trailed.

His hands moulded and slided, cupping and squeezing, and she timely responded with a meaningful moan.

They rolled and turned. Each of them pouring a deliberate amount of skill into their foreplay. He flipped. She flipped. Like eagles mating in the sky. And finally, a surge of testosterone burst through. Time seemed so sedate. Jerk after jerk, he tightened his buttocks increasingly as he leaned in. She screamed in frightening delight, as if sure of what she was expecting --a liquid gift of his masculine potential.

All the while, I was a silent audience, paralyzed by awe and yet undisclosed to my performers.

"Such biologic profundity!" I thought. The kind that makes one do things beyond the finest lines of logic...things so secret, so sensual, so...errrmm...what's another 's' word that people normally say sex is? Spiritual? Yes, that's it--"Spiritual"

But is sex actually spiritual?

Before you say 'yes', think again.

By spiritual, you must mean it is unseen, supernal, incorporeal(not involving bodies), pertaining to God or devils, or merely ecclesiastical.

If you say yes, you mean one can pass fate, chance, destiny, transcendent powers and gifts from one genital to another as semen greets slime.

If you don't believe that sex can do these, you can't say sex is spiritual. If you can't make a demon or a saint by sex, if you can't transform a drunkard into a deacon by doing a "missionary" on him, you can't be correct to say sex is spiritual.

I know Mt. Zion films played tricks on us. They made it graphic but spirits are NOT transfered through our groins. We know, quite unambiguously, from scriptures how spirits possess people. But sex isn't one of it!

You'd might have heard of heavy-duty names like Incubus and Succubus--demons capable of being transfered through sexual intercourse with humans. These are 19th century mythological figures similar to the cock and sand fables of Oduduwa.

Sex is physical, very so! Like food, clothing, shelter or money, sex is no different. Enjoy it without binding and casting, fasting or praying.

It spoils the spontaneity.

It is for your body. It is for you!
