BUTTER CHICKEN

Chunks of grilled chicken (tandoori chicken) cooked in a smooth buttery & creamy tomato based gravy is known as Butter chicken or murgh makhani.

Preparation
Keep everything ready.

Wash chicken under running water and pat dry.

Marinate chicken with salt, turmeric, chilly powder and garam masala powder for 15-20 minutes.

Well now the chicken has been marinated, let us pan fry the marinated chicken. After frying put it in another pot and set it aside.

Now puree the tomatoes and set aside. Also make the ginger and garlic paste.

Cut the onion into fine pieces and put in pan and start pan frying , now add some water, cut tomatoes, garlic and ginger paste, garam masala powder , cashews and some sugar (optional), Allow this mixture to simmer for about 15 minutes.

Now transfer this fine mixture into another pot and hand grind this mixture into fine paste.

Now sieve this mixture in the same frying pan so that we are left with tomato skin and seeds into sieve and rest of it passes down as fine paste into pan.

Now here is the time to add butter, cream and the fried chicken to the paste in above pan and allow it to simmer for 5-7 minutes and what you got is BUTTER CHICKEN.
