Healthcare in China *2
The government has noted this imbalance has aimed to further improve healthcare accessibility to people with more severe prognosis's with their "Healthy China 2020" initiative where they aim to cover up to 70% of the costs for health care by the end of 2018.
Interesting to note, that aside from the major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, other cities had access to lower tier health infrastructure which is set to change.
One of the challenges China faces is the rapid shift in demographic. The population has aged much faster than other populations and the elderly continue to represent a larger and larger proportion of the overall population.
