Is HeartBit a Facade or the Real Thing.

After being listed on the top five - best start-ups in the fields of Biotech, IoT and Social Impact at the Central European Startup Awards 2018, HeartBit is a company on a mission, an important mission at that - which is to not only provide individuals with accurate health data that was only available inside hospitals but also through blockchain, incentivise healthier behaviour among individuals.

Based on research by the American Heart Association, Arrhythmia (otherwise known as irregular heartbeat or cardiac dysrhythmia) affects more than 1.5% of the entire US population, that's more than 4 million people and ends up killing about 500,000.

The best-known way to record and diagnose this condition is what is medically known as ECG, whether it's an Electrocardiogram, a Holter monitor test, an Event monitor test or an Echocardiogram, these tests will measure and note down your cardiac electric activities over a period. And although ECG, as a diagnostic tool has proved to be quite effective in hospitals, as markets mature ECG monitoring systems have had to be modified and improved to keep up.

Newer more advanced equipment have been created to kind of supplement this system, some of these equipment’s include Electrocardiography monitoring systems which can be used inside homes and ambulances to better the quality of life for cardiac patients, to event monitors that patients need to carry around with them in order to keep track of their heart rhythms, we've also seen newer more improved ECG data management systems which basically do what they say.

Now although the field of cardiology has come a long way it does still have some big downsides, for example most of these systems or equipment lack modern functionalities like cellular, so if the patient leaves his or her home, these hardware’s can't really monitor his or her activities. Which leads me to the most ridiculous fix for this i have read about so far.

It is known as the implantable loop recorder, which is (picture this!) a small device that kind of the size of a USB stick or a pack of gum that's surgically inserted into the skin covering your chest with the purpose of monitoring your heart's electrical activity for a short period of time (which is right around 3 years). Got to be honest not sure what i think about this one.

But luckily HeartBit is out to fix this problem, thanks to an amazing team and solid partners, the company developed what is described as the world's first 3 lead bipolar ECG system, which is integrated into smart wearable devices. This revolutionary technology won't just monitor the user during their physical activities and rest periods and inform them of their cardiac status, it will also accurately and timely detect arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation and other suspicious symptoms which is pretty cool.

See arrhythmia can prove quite tricky to diagnose, this is because even if you visit your doctor sometimes these irregularities may not reveal themselves on tests, only doing so when the condition has significantly worsened.

Some doctors may decide to take you through stress tests (for example taking you through exercises) or through a tilt table test (which is where you're asked to lay on a table and the table is lifted so as to monitor your heart rate etc.) there are quite a number of ways to trigger an arrhythmia for accurate diagnosis, but the HeartBit method works best because it provides physicians with a detailed but conclusive history of your medical data that can be used to derive findings and the best part is - because this data is stored securely on blockchain ledgers, users don't have to worry about any of their sensitive information falling into the wrong hands.

This blockchain implementation also makes it much easier for individuals to negotiate for more affordable health insurance packages. This is because since all the data that's recorded on the system can't be tampered with there is more transparency, thus giving insurance providers with more tools to provide more accurate risk evaluation, leading to lower cost of insurance.

So before i say anything. HeartBit is most definitely the real thing.

Participating with HeartBit.

The company is looking to raise $30,750,000 from its pre-sale and main token sales to facilitate development of the platform and further expand its brand reach. Participants of both the private sale and public sales will get a 20% discount on purchase of the HBIT.

If you're looking to meet and interact with the team you should attend the ISPO trade show in Munich, 2019. It is during this period that the blockchain platform will also be announced.
