"Minstamis na Sampalok" is a Filipino word for Sweetened Tamarind. Tamarind is a tropical fruit. It issour in taste but when it is ripe the sourness is mixed with sweetness. It is cottony when ripe. Filipinos like to sweeten fruits and other crops to prolong its shelf life. One of my favorite and actually my stress reliever is Minatamis na Sampalok. I like it a little bit salty.

Once Sampalok/Tamarind is sweetened it gives a mixture of sweet, sour and salty taste. MInatamis na Sampalok is my snack whenever I am online. This delicacy tickles my taste buds and makes me long for more.

It is easy to prepare. harvest or buy ripe Tamarind. Peel it. Caramelize brown sugar in a pan and simply pour the Tamarind on it. You can roll it in salt and/or sugar
