También llamada cinta, es un elemento constituido por una banda lisa, de color amarillo e impresa con letras negras, que se fabrica con polietileno de baja densidad u otro material incorruptible en contacto con el suelo.

El propósito de esta banda de seguridad básicamente consiste en señalar la presencia de una tubería de gas enterrada y de esa manera se tomen las previsiones necesarias en caso de que se este excavando o perforando en su espacio de influencia.

Cuando se coloca la tubería, sobre ella se aplica una capa de 20 cm. de arena cernida, sobre esta se coloca la banda de seguridad y una vez colocada se cubre con 15 cm de mortero de concreto
