Introducing the Universal Hip Hop Museum this week on the 5ifth Element

For over 40 years now Hip Hop has been making an impact in the lives of countless individuals around the world, providing a voice and vehicle of expression and bringing communities together in celebration of the elements in their rawest form. But we've yet to really see this encapsulated and enshrined as we would for other genres of music and art, now that is all about to change, with the Universal Hip Hop Museum.

Currently the target for the Grand Opening of the Universal Hip Hop Museum is 2022 and things are underway to put it all in motion. It's been a really exciting time for Hip Hop globally, with the music dominating the charts and all the elements really coming into their own and scenes developing in most unlikeliest of places!

Capturing The Past

The Universal Hip Hop Museum offers our patrons a thorough analysis and untainted view of Hip Hop culture’s past history using leading edge virtual and augmented reality technologies for an immersive online and offline experience that is not found anywhere else.

I believe this is a fantastic project and we here at @hhtb fully support the team, headed by the legendary Kurtis Blow, and the fact that the museum would be located in The Bronx is important to the legacy of Hip Hop.

When growing the #hhtb platform we had contacted UHHM and had the pleasure of speaking with Adam Silverstein. Adam heads up the archives department, so if you have ANY items related to Hip Hop culture, no matter from where in the world, he's the main man to get in touch with. You can do that through their contact form.

One of the initiatives I think is very valuable is Generation Hip Hop, which is a global project to bring together the community under the banner of UHHM. Here's a quote from the website:

Generation Hip Hop (GHH) is a global youth empowerment and development program, initiated by the Universal Hip Hop Museum and the Africa Rising Foundation. The aim is to establish satellite non-profit organizations under one Hip Hop brand across the world.
