'Fo Sho' is a slang term which is used a lot these days.
High profile rappers use it all the time, and we hear it in their lyrics.
But how many of us actually know where it originated from and why it was used in the first place?
When I was doing my minnow comp the other day I used it and thought I wonder how many people know of it's origins.

If you do a google search, the urban dictionary says:

"fo'sho is a totally cool and epic way of saying for sure"

But there is nothing about where it originated from, or how the phrase took of in the first place.

In the 1980's gang violence was on the rise in America, and Detroit was no exception.
The Best Friends were a ruthless criminal organization running the streets of Detroit, who ran the streets and were the biggest drug dealers on the block.
Along with drug trafficking they were also a group of contract killers, and in fact that is how they started out. They were a group of enforcers and hit men.

'Fo Sho' originated from The Best Friends, when they would put the hit on someone.
Two men would do the hit.
One would put a cap into your body, which would drop you to the ground. The other man would put the 'Fo Sho' on you, which was one to the head.

Over the years the slang term has changed and it had become used so frequently that it had lost it's meaning.
But this is where the slang term 'Fo Sho' comes from and why it was used.
I thought it was pretty interesting when I found out.
