OMG WTF: Kan enybodee rite propa? PLS LMK ASAP

It's pretty common for a person not to have any real need to write very much these days I think; I don't mean compose sentences, phrases, paragraphs and the like, many people do that either in the course of their job or on social media to some degree, greater or lesser. I actually mean write, as in, handwrite, with pen and paper. I wonder if it's becoming somewhat of a lost art in these digital times in which we live.

Most of what I write is on my computer at work and on steemit these days, also on a computer, although I certainly still utilise pen and paper in both my job and when researching and composing on steemit at times. What? Seriously, a PEN? Yep...A pen! I find it is easier to plan out my composition or workflow on paper, putting down the ideas, structure and/or framework in that way prior to constructing it on the keyboard. It just seems easier for me to do it that way mostly. I certainly would not call my handwriting neat, in fact it's far from it being closer to hieroglyphics than neat writing. I have always had reasonably bad handwriting really. I recall my parents authorising the headmaster at my primary school to administer the cane to me if my writing was not of a certain standard. That rather draconian method of motivation didn't work though, unsurprisingly, despite me receiving more than one motivational caning.

In the digital age, and moving forward into voice-recognition technology that is becoming more prevalent, I believe the handwritten word will decline further to, at some point, disappear altogether. I think that's a shame. After spending the last four weeks travelling through England visiting many historical sites and museums I have come across many examples of the written word in books, tablets, and of course hieroglyphs, as in the image, which give historians today a clear indication of the past, of what life was like and of events that have shaped our present. Sure, records are kept now, digitally these days, and are probably far more complete and extensive but...What if the power went out at some stage or there's a glitch in the system at some point, you know, Terminator - Rise of the Machines style...With no handwritten records would it all be lost? Ever tried turning on a computer or Kindle/tablet with no available power source? Doesn't work right?

The written word is being dug up in archaeological digs all over the world providing us a window to the past; The records from thousands of years ago can be deciphered, studied and understood...I wonder if we buried a computer with the history of the world contained on the hard drive today and then had it dug up in 3000 years would the future-archaeologist be able to extract the information? Hmm, I'm not so sure.

We live in a world where words like LOL, ROFL, OMG and DILIGAF actually mean something to people and in which the ability to craft words on paper, with ink, is a declining art-form. Six year olds aren't welcome at school unless they carry a tablet and more importance is put on how to ALT CTRL DEL than applying the correct punctuation and spelling to what we write. I think it's a shame the ability to write well has been superseded by the need (or want) to write quickly and that the quality of what a person writes suffers negatively because of it.

You look like brother of @tarazkp. Are you?
we are all #kps ...haha

You’ll have to check out our blogs to discover the answer. The journey of discovery is a large component that culminates in the satisfaction of gaining the knowledge. Let me know what you discover if indeed you take the journey of discovery.

So here I go.....

In last post on your post you have one cute little kid and you said she is from Finland and tarazkp is also from Finland and tarazkp has also made a post 2-3 days on his cute daughter. And these two cuties seem same for me. And tarazkp is following your every post. Both people way of writing is quite similar to me . And both has kps in your names. So these are my conclusions on my assumptions. Am I correct this time atleast 😂😂

This sweet little cutie in the picture is daughter of tarazkp

Ok, @kpreddy, you’re correct. @tarazkp is my youngest brother. He lives in Finland and I live in Australia. I’m here on vacation. The cute little kid is my niece, his daughter.

See, now wasn’t that journey to enlightenment enjoyable for you? :)

Yes it is!!😀😀..... I like your starightforwardness....

And I like your curious nature and inquisitiveness. :)

Thankyou @galenkp😊😊

I enjoy only handwriting with all the technology that we have and will have in the future. To write with a pen on a paper is like eating chocolate for me and enjoy every minute of it. I also love to choose my pen and the journal to enjoy the process more. I used that for steemit in my first days when I didnt know what to write about. Actually I get ideas only when I hold a pen, otherwise I can sit for 3 hours in front of the screen thinking about what to write.

I know a few people who write in journals. I believe it is a good way to order ones thoughts and emotions. I don’t do it myself but I write a lot, pen and paper, and enjoy it. I also have specific pens that I prefer. I’m partially OCD so am a little funny like that. :)

Sometimes we have things in mind that we cant tell to anyone or we need to complain about something, but we dont want to bother anyone. In those cases a journal is like a close friend. A friend who can listen without any judgement :)

I’ve also notice that the human fingers are evolving longer with a fatter finger tip, maybe one day we will all have ET fingers 😆😆
Great read 👍

Haha, great bloody ET fingers for sure, and we’ll be born with an iPhone in our hands and with a duckface pout! :)

Great post ! very informative keep it up Thank you :)

Thanks for your reply. I am curious to know what part of my post you found to be

very informative,

how it applies to you and what you may do moving forward with the information I have provided to you. I’ll await your response.

burn...

considering the picture in the account appears to be a sexdoll...............

well, I think you know when you'll receive a response! :)

Haven't been holding my breath...Might get dangerous to my health! :)

My handwriting has also always been poor, I just seem to lack any artistry of hand.
One thing that pen and paper did do that tech so far has failed to imitate is the doodle. Again this is no art from me, but somehow it helps me remember things. When I was at work I had a lot of stuff to remember, and I scrawled notes but never referred to them, because the act of doodling all over those pages bound all the important aspects into my mind.
So in that sense I would never swap a pad and paper for a keyboard and mouse :)

Handwriting, good, bad or indifferent is a valued skill. My doodles are terrible also, like my handwriting but every so often I bust out a good one. I don’t frame them, but feel some small degree of doodle-pride. :)

Very true mate. I hope you guys are having a ball with family? I wonder of people ever think about the fact that electronics go down and that not everyone speaks idiot? Our new generation thinks it's cool to dumb themselves down, but it's not. It's a beautiful art, my dad could do beautiful calligraphy and as a kid I loved watching him write, but never quite got the hang of it myself. I believe that parents need to stand together against schools and governments when it comes to how their children are raised and educated.

There is a train of thought that the government are “dumbing us down” in preparation for when there are not enough jobs, massive unemployment on a global scale. If we’re mostly “dumb” then it’s easier to control how we think. I’m not sure about it but I heard that the other day. Who knows huh?

Well dictators have used these strategies all through the ages and sadly it has worked every time because the people see the shit hitting the fan and sit and wait for better to come without acting.
