left Hans scholl. Center Sofia Scholl. Right. Stamp in honor of the martyred brothers, beheaded the same day by the Nazis.

There are women capable of undertaking and achieving what seems impossible. That's what a 16-year-old girl named Sophia Scholl did when she decided to confront the Nazi hordes in power, preaching that the Aryan Germans were born without original sin and that there was no salvation outside of Nazism.

Sophia, like millions of German children, was subjected to a merciless brainwashing that promised them the Nazi paradise on the planet, in exchange for understanding that all other humans were despicable subspecies.

But the intensity of the treatment could not erase in Sophia the imprint of his intelligence and dignity, and from the age of 16 he opposed the totalitarian manifestations of the Nazis that were like the air that was breathed everywhere. One day, then, she confessed to her older brother, Hans, that she belonged to a secret organization called The White Rose, and that she opposed the brutal discourse of Nazi power. His brother, rejoicing and surprised, confessed that he and other young students were the creators of the organization.

Sophia, fervent reader and great painter despite her youth, contacted groups of artists whom Hitler called "Degenerates fusilables". Then he entered the University to study two careers at the same time: biology and philosophy, and continued writing and spreading texts clandestinely against the brutal and alienating power of Nazism. His father, then, was taken prisoner for making a comment against Hitler. From that moment on, she and her entire family were considered suspects.

Tireless, and with a boldness that did not consult his security, Sophia began to paint on the walls of the city the slogan "Out, Hitler", and began to hand out brochures in broad daylight. In the end, in a suicidal act, he stopped at the entrance to the University and threw, like a rain, leaflets to a huge group of students. The gendarme, who was a Nazi, closed the door and imprisoned her with her brother and other members of The White Rose movement. In minutes, the Gestapo arrested them all and the next day they were sentenced to death.

Before being beheaded, Sophia shouted at them: "I die quietly. Their heads will also fall." Sophia had a brave spirit, and she was barely 21 years old. The executioner said he had never seen anyone without fear before. Only her.

That is why, too, when chess dies, the most rabid, dignified, and most vociferous struggle is resurrected: to watch other heads roll.
