Meteorite or CannonBall?

When I was 12 years old I kicked this in the forest on a walk at my Uncles Farm near Dover England.

Its pure Iron weighs about 5 lbs and im trying to figure out what it is. I've always assumed it was an old cannonball but the groves and its texture also make me think it might be a meteorite.

Im sure the only way to get it tested is to take it to a lab but I dont know what lab does tests like this.

Anyone in this space have any suggestions?
