Adramytteion

The city of Adramytteion founder is Adramys. And Adramytteion was founded in 1443 BC. And Adramytteion is one of the most important trade centers in the Misia region.

The Adramytteion was later conquered by the Persian empire. And for 200 years, Adramytteion has been a Persian city. Later, Adramytteion was conquered by Alexander the Great.

Adramytteion was conquered in 85 BC by the Roman Empire. And for many years Adramytteion has been a city of Roman and Byzantine empires.

In the 11th century Adramytteion was conquered by the Turks. And in 1323 Adramytteion became a city of the Ottoman Empire. And the name of Adramytteion was changed to Edremit.
