The historical re-enactment of the second world war months #3

in #history5 years ago

The second day already up the country was in turmoil, i enter at my job in the traditional dress I was very careful not to get dirty for the photos that were made in the day.

Already in the morning Prunetta was full of tourists and we worked much more than usual.

The children were running themed clothes and it was nice to see them running through the streets of the village in their theme clothes, laughing and playful.

We adults take anxious part in the afternoon where we all come out in a procession through the streets of the country, behind the figures and dove arrived at Villa Vannucchi we would witness the reproduction of a fake siege by the Americans in the German camp.

With the arrival of the afternoon we all found ourselves in the club of the country ready to leave, first the military cars were passing, roaring and full of people, soldiers and nurses who greeted and with special guest Ilvana, lady of the village, famous owner of the shop of clothes that for the occasion wore an elegant vintage dress and greeted everyone radiant like a queen.

The children were made to go up in turns on the cars, obviously it has created crowds and beatings and shoves to go up before but in the end they are all mounted for a race!

Meanwhile, we prepared for the parade and we walked towards Villa Vannucchi where there were German soldiers waiting for us.

They already gathered in the camp at a distance so we could witness the re-enactment of the battle without danger.

They then blew smoke creating an atmosphere of great suspense and then we began to hear the shots and we enjoyed the siege from a distance.

The soldiers rolled in the grass and hid the shrubs firing bursts until the victory where triffanti climbed back into the cars surrounded by shouts of enthusiasm.

The inhabitants have surrounded the Americans by making them party and embracing them, for a moment we are back in time.

Once I feel fortunate not to have lived, war is an experience I would not have liked.

And so it is over this beautiful re-enactment that I hope will be repeated next year.

Thank you very much ^^

This is just so good on so many levels. I have really enjoyed the whole series. Thank you for it.

Oh. I have a friend I see a time or two a week who is a WWII Vet and in the ETO. He's 97 and sharp and active.

Than you for reading me!! Uuh a vet Friend you must write about him, i am so curious, by the way 97 and still active it's a good goal! ^^

He's a real life character. I've known him 20 years and he just amazes me. In honor of his 90th birthday he hiked into and out of the Grand Canyon the same day, a really impressive feat for any age. No way I would even attempt it.

I’ve always wanted to participate in one of these, sounds like a lot more fun than reading a history book! Thanks for sharing.

Yes it's funny ^^ The best part in my opinion was working all dressed up :P And else see my friends wearing old clothes eh eh eh ^^

Yes, I love getting to dress up in costume! Sounds like a blast.
