Purpose of Egyptian ancient pyramids was never truly disclosed, and this question has been burning question for as long as pyramids were discovered. Classical historians refused to take in view that may be pyramids are not built for what they believe, huge monumental thumbs, but for much higher purpose. Egyptian pyramids are set to be exactly geographical center of world, in today's Egypt, and oldest is estimated to date from 2611 BC. But, for some reason, there is no single scripture or painting, or even mention in Egyptian writings or history relics that depict construction of pyramids.
For that reason and some other things, many historians and people of science believe that Egyptian pyramids are much older and that they are built for another purpose, but not for serving as thumbs of Egyptian rulers.

It is speculation, but big possibility that ancient cultures were not primitive but yet, developed and knowing science and technology that is considered product of recent times and modern age science. Newest speculation is that pyramids might be used to create conductive wireless electricity, similar theories of Nicola Tesla and that monuments were used to power towns and villages miles away, or maybe half-planet away.
Nicola Tesla was successful in his tests and proved that theory works but his work was savagely destroyed, results were stolen and property confiscated byUnited States Government accusing him of being mad and in conspiracy with enemy forces.
It turns out that entire inside of Egyptian pyramids is covered with schematics of technology these people used and no depiction of their deities. Speculative or not it could explain lot about pyramids and their purpose. Some food for thought.
