Now more than 10k Bitcoin ATMs in the world

A fun fact of the day

There are now over 10k Bitcoin ATMs in the world.

Another fun fact, I haven't used a single one of them!

I remember a while back when I was trying to figure out the best ways to get money in and out of crypto (it wasn't always as easy it is today), I looked up a few local bitcoin ATMs.

The plan was to try them out and see how they worked.

However, after further investigation I soon learned that I would be paying around 20-30% in fees to use the ATM.

As you can imagine, that quickly made the allure of using a bitcoin ATM go right out the window.

I haven't checked in years but I imagine the fees have come down quite a bit.

As it stands now, there are over 10k of them in the world today.

And the have incredible growth over the last several years.

Anyone out there have any experiences using a bitcoin ATM?

If so, what are the fees like these days?

Now this is a big development which has been flying under the radar.
We had one at our biggest mall in Honolulu, the Ala Moana mall, but it sold Bitcoin at close to 20% over market price. I don’t know if it’s still there. I saw one in Japan also in a mall, but it was 15% above market price also.
