Interesting Article About Creating Homes for Insects

Hello friends,

I came across this article on Facebook, and thought that it was quite fascinating. I'm hugely in favor of promoting biodiversity in human spaces, so things like this are awesome in my book. I home to someday be able to make things like this, and make my living area a thriving ecosystem.

There are 35 of these different structures in the article, along with instructions on how to go about building a basic version. The 35 are basically just models that your own insect hotel could be based off of.

I'm sure that give the homesteading community on Steemit, there are a ton of people who already have things like this. I would love to see some that people have made.

I think these kinds of efforts are really what it will take to get humanity back in tune with the natural world. So many people are so separated from nature all the time, and I feel that regular exposure to these kinds of natural structures, filled with living beings, would go a long ways towards promoting kinder behavior. Though, if someone goes through the effort to build something like this, I'd have to imagine they're already very pro-nature. Imagine if these kinds of structures were setup in parks or other outdoor areas. That would be an amazing push towards promoting biodiversity. Maybe someday there will be initiatives like this globally. One can dream.
