Hello & Welcome New Friends...

You have found your way to our Disable Veteran owned and operated 7.25 acre homestead in Eastern Tennessee. We hope you enjoy this "Introduction" look around...

My name is Mark... I served in the US Navy as an 8404 "Devil Doc" Corpsman - meaning I spent most of my enlistment assigned to a USMC unit as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman. My wife's name is Tina. She served with the US Army as a BioMedical Equipment Tech. Our father's were both Veterans, and one of sons currently serves in the USAF.

We began our homesteading journey out of necessity, raising four children on our fixed military disability income. One of our biggest expenses was rising food costs, and this was something we could address directly with gardening. Today, we maintain multiple gardens on the property including both flat row gardens as well as raised bed gardens. We will assuredly be talking more about them, but here is a look.

Our homestead also entails several "critters" that we hope to devote some time to in our future posts as well. Just a couple notes. You may find it interesting that we work with rare(r) breed chickens - not for eating (other than eggs) - but more for selling the hatching eggs as another income stream for our homestead. And along with the chickens, we have maintained a closed Rouen duck flock through several generations. These are not all of our critters, but we've got to save something for future posts... LOL

As with our YouTube Channel and Facebook Page (both named: Bumble Bee Junction), we also hope to include some of our cooking, canning, and crafting activities into our posts here. A lot will have to be determined by the feedback we receive and what our followers would like to see more of. We have been homesteading for over 20+ years, and can address most topics. We'll be wanting to hear from you though, so please let us know...

We are not sure where this adventure will go from here ! Please feel free to share with us what you would like to see or read about - or if there is anything you would like to see us address in more depth.
