Jaimie Decided To Change A Homeschool Curriculum

Changing a home school curriculum is not something we take lightly. We take our children's education seriously but we are always on the lookout for how to better ourselves as educators so our efforts are maximized on our children. That said, when we see a problem, we address it.

There are some wonderful curriculums out there but even the really good ones may not be the best fit for a particular child or even the parent.

Jaimie in this video goes over why she made a recent change and gives 3 possible reasons why a parent may want to change a curriculum. She addresses why she still likes the Good and the Beautiful curriculum but why it was necessary for a change away from it.

What does your family use for a curriculum? Do you have any experience with the Good and the Beautiful? What reasons would cause your family to change a curriculum? Leave a comment below!

We are switching this year as well. For the last 4 years we have used Christian Liberty Academy. It was fine for my oldest, but my second son hated it! Also it doesn't fit our value system anymore. I'm nervous about switching but also very excited. We are using Homeschooling Torah this year. It's more of a one room school house. It will be more work for me, but I believe it's how they should be taught. 4th, 2nd, and Kindergarten...she has done a wonderful job putting it together. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks Jaimie! Great video!

Great! Yeah keep us posted on that!

That’s the curriculum I was looking at for my kids as well! I’m thinking of starting my oldest in preschool this fall (age-wise she could technically wait until next fall) so I’m going to give that one a shot and see how it is. It would be so nice to have one less thing to worry about, having a curriculum that matches our values!

My girls say that you should use a curriculum that has dump trucks and trains, that would be better for boys. Funny thing is, my girls would probably enjoy that more than drawing flowers! @ironshield

Every child is different so when you understand that and adapt to what works for them it just makes sense to make changes.

Adapt and overcome...works with so many things in life. :)

I think it's fine if we change the curriculum, but back again whether we should not use the existing curriculum, of course the manufacturing process takes a very long time.
if it is less able to understand by the children, mungking way penyampain course less detailed. thank you

Yes, everyone has to choose what is right for their children so that they can learn the thing that they need to know.

Jaimie is amazing. I am gob smacked that in this day and age she actually consulted her husband on something affecting the family. With more women like her around this country might actually survive the turmoil it faces.
