Guava Psidium guajava

Wikipedia Guavas (singular guava /ˈɡwɑːvə/)[1] are common tropical fruits cultivated and enjoyed in many tropical and subtropical regions. Psidium guajava (common guava, lemon guava) is a small tree in the Myrtle family (Myrtaceae), native to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America. Although related species may also be called guavas, they belong to other species or genera, such as the "pineapple guava" Acca sellowiana. In 2011, India was the largest producer of guavas.

We have about 30 guava trees. Most are still very young trees, but they bear fruit already. The fruit is delicious and vary from being green or white on the inside to dark or bright orange and somtimes red. The leaves make a very delicious and healthy tea. Also the locals will make a poultice out of the leaves and placing them on a cut or burn. I have used this herbal cure to very satisfactory outcome. Still the best is the enjoyable fruit.

I took these photos this morning. I cut one guava, took a photo, then ate it.

I love those and I grew up climbing guava trees hehe. I also grew up using guava leaves to heal wounds.

Cool stuff in God’s creation! Thanks for stopping by!

Our guava tree that we have in our yard since I was a kid died this year. I think it was hit by some fungus. What a loss. We usually use it for medicinal and therapeutic purposes. Good thing we have two more at our backyard.

Good you have a spare. I enjoy the fruit! How are you brother?
