SAVING OUR OWN SNAKE GOURD SEEDS

in #homesteading5 years ago (edited)

SUCCESS!!!

These "Snake Gourds" are technically the "Kikinda Competition Strain Edible Gourd" available from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed company (https://www.rareseeds.com/kikinda-competition-strain-edible-gourd/)

They were an amazing plant to grow and provided a lot of food for our family, but we let two fully mature with the hopes that we would be able to save our own seeds. In this video, I check the contents of the larger one, and mention the idea about a growing contest. If you are possibly interested in receiving some seeds and joining in a fun growing contest next year (2019), leave a comment and let me know!

Ah nice. We are now growing this and it is slowly climbing up the support stick. Hope we also get a good yield.

Hello my friend! :D
I've never seen a snake gourd before this, very neat looking. :D What do they taste like? :D How long did they take to grow that long? :D
God bless you and your wonderful family. :D Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D

That would be a fun competition where you could also have a post every month where people that are in the contest could post their progress!
(Just wish I had the space for these!!!)
